Alabama PTA has been conducting “Why PTA is Still Relevant” workshops across the great state of Alabama. They are covering a variety of topics including advocacy, membership and Alabama College and Career Readiness Standards. The workshops have been held in Huntsville and Montgomery and two additional workshops are planned for Mobile and Tuscaloosa. I was thrilled to see a huge turnout of administrators at the Montgomery event! Excellent job team!

Blue Ribbon Schools – The U.S. Department of Education selected Sue H. Morrow and Glen C. Taylor Elementary Schools, and Sig Rogich Middle School as 2015 National Blue Ribbon Schools for their overall excellence among only 335 public and private schools recognized nationwide. National PTA – Sandra L. Thompson Elementary School was one of only 124 schools to receive the National PTA School of Excellence award in September 2015 for its outstanding
The trainings will be: Saturday, June 18 at Palo Verde HS (333 S Pavilion Center Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89144) Saturday, July 23 (Reno) – location to be determined and Saturday, August 13 at Chaparral HS (3850 Annie Oakley Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89121). New school will bring relief to two nearby schools over capacity LAS VEGAS – The Clark County School District (CCSD) broke ground on a new elementary school near the intersection of Chartan Avenue and Pioneer Way.
