INFLUENCING LEGISLATION
IN NEVADA
In recent years, Nevada PTA has been instrumental in securing class size reduction, a graduated driver’s license program, the majority of tobacco tax being used for higher education, adoption of Standards for Parent/Family Involvement, mandatory kindergarten, and reducing the legal blood alcohol content to .08% or less.
In addition, Nevada PTA currently has more than 175 legislative resolutions/position statements to which it can speak, and that guide the advocacy work of the association.
